RV Camping at Idyllwild
Ponderosa town via Hwy 74 from Palm Desert — length limits, cool nights, a walkable village the Class A does not enter. Opposite of the valley floor.
About Idyllwild
Idyllwild is the opposite climate of Indio. Palms to Pines (Hwy 74) leaves Palm Desert and climbs into granite and ponderosa. The town is walkable and the streets are not Class A streets — same rule as Palm Canyon, different trees. County park and San Bernardino National Forest sites around town take trailers and shorter motorhomes; a 40-foot diesel that was fine at a valley snowbird park will fail a length post here. Summer is why valley people go: 115° on the floor, sleepable nights in the pines. Winter can close the highway. Check length, check the pass, and do not plan to park in front of a cafe on North Circle. Delivery up 74 is a mountain-grade job, not a Date Palm drop.

Idyllwild is about about 1 hour via Palms to Pines from the Coachella Valley floor. There is no invented Palm Springs shop — we deliver to the site when length allows, or we stage in the named city. Palms to Pines and the Hwy 62 grade are the usual hours, not a straight interstate.
Do I need reservations for Idyllwild?
We recommend making reservations, especially for weekends and peak seasons. You can book through ReserveCalifornia / Recreation.gov. Popular sites fill up fast during festival season and winter snowbird months.
Can you deliver an RV to Idyllwild?
Yes. We deliver to Idyllwild when the pad and the length allow it. Festival lots need a matching pass. Park campgrounds have their own length posts. Valley staging if you want to drive. Contact us for a quote.
