About Joshua Tree National Park
The park is not the town. Jumbo Rocks is a boulder field with no hookups and a generator culture the rangers actually enforce. Black Rock sits on the west side with water and a dump, closer to Yucca Valley than to Indio. Cottonwood is the south entrance off I-10, a different drive than Hwy 62, and a different heat — lower, later, harder in May. Length limits are real; a 40-foot Class A that fits a valley snowbird park will not fit every Jumbo Rocks loop. Reserve on Recreation.gov. Summer is not a cute warning. It is 110° on the granite at 2 p.m. with no shade structure. A/C means generator hours, and generator hours mean you read the park sheet before you book the rig. Delivery into a campsite is a different quote than delivery to Joshua Tree the town. If you are sleeping on a 92252 driveway and day-tripping through the west entrance, that is the town city page.
