How Much Are RV Rentals in Palm Springs?

People call and ask for a number the way they'd ask a vending machine. There isn't one. There's a season.

Every unit on our marketplace, travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class Cs, and a handful of Class A motorhomes, sets its own nightly rate by date on Outdoorsy or RVshare. A budget travel trailer and a premium festival-ready motorhome aren't in the same conversation, and neither is priced the same in July as it is during Coachella week. Check live availability for what's actually on the board today rather than a number we'd have to update every time the calendar turns.

Three calendars, three prices

Snowbird season, October through April. This is the monthly product. Parks in the valley run their own monthly rates separate from nightly marketplace pricing, and a renter competing for a month-long stay in January isn't bidding against festival traffic. Snowbird season is the longer version of this.

Festival April. Coachella runs two weekends, April 9–11 and April 16–18, 2027, and Stagecoach follows the weekend after, April 23–25, at the same Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio. Coachella itself doesn't allow RV or motorhome camping on-site, no running water, no toilets, so that demand pushes into every park and delivery-friendly driveway within a reasonable drive of Indio. Tennis week sits in that same window. BNP Paribas Open runs February 28 through March 14, 2027, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and Modernism Week runs February 11–21. Both fill hotels on Highway 111 and both price like a small festival even though neither one has a wristband.

Summer. Theoretically the cheap season. Practically a generator-and-A/C bill. A rented rig without a real cooling plan for a 110-plus afternoon is a bad trip regardless of what the nightly rate said.

What you're actually paying for

The marketplace listing is the night. Delivery is the address, a Warm Sands driveway, an Indio park, a Palm Desert condo, and that's priced separately by distance. Insurance and protection plans are Outdoorsy or RVshare features tied to the individual listing, not a blanket claim from us. Read the specific listing before you assume what's included.

Check where the unit actually sits before you compare nightly rates. We counted our own live inventory and only 22 of 48 current listings are based in the Coachella Valley cities themselves, Palm Springs through Desert Hot Springs. The rest sit in Inland Empire cities like Temecula, Murrieta, and Menifee, 40 to 90 miles out. A cheaper nightly rate on one of those units can lose its edge once delivery distance gets priced in, or cost you the drive yourself if you're picking up. Check the listed city, not just the price, before you book.

Length changes the number too. A camper van that can sometimes squeeze into a village parking spot is a different rental than a 38-foot motorhome that can't go near Palm Canyon at all. Best RV type for this valley is the hardware side of this same decision.

What separates a budget trailer from a premium motorhome

Type isn't the only lever. Within the same category, a unit's actual equipment moves the price: generator size and whether it's factory-installed, the number of slide-outs, and whether the trailer has real 50-amp service versus a single 30-amp cord. A trailer with a small onboard generator and one slide is a different listing than one with a full-capacity generator and three, even though both are technically "travel trailers." Read the individual listing's amenity list, not just its category, before you compare two units on price alone.

What festival week actually costs if you don't rent an RV

The RV-versus-hotel math isn't theoretical during Coachella. During Weekend 2 of Coachella 2026, the average Indio Airbnb asked $1,200 a night, a 109% premium over normal rates, according to short-term rental data reported by Yahoo Entertainment, citing AirROI's Coachella 2026 cancellation data. That's one specific year and one specific weekend, not a guarantee for 2027, but it's the real order of magnitude: a four-night Airbnb stay at that rate runs well past $4,000 before anyone's eaten a meal. A delivered RV parked on a driveway you already have access to, or at a monthly-adjacent rate rather than a festival-surge nightly rate, is the reason this business exists during that specific week.
